Twelve to fourteen are pivotal years for girls. They are just starting to dip their toes into womanhood but they are still very much girls. Wild, creative, community oriented, fun loving, and tender. At Fusion we pride ourselves at being the top of the game on Women’s health, well-being and fitness in Asheville. The biggest and most important piece of this is educating girls and young women. Our mission is to give them tools to stay empowered, outspoken and to have the courage to always Lean In! At Fusion we believe that movement paired with a deep understanding and communication with the body (that means knowing how to take very good care of yourself) is how one stays not only physically balanced but more importantly how one stays mentally, spiritually and energetically balanced and tuned. When a girl receives this knowledge and ability to honor, appreciate and truly take care of her body she has received a gift for a lifetime. We hope your 6th and 7th grade daughters will join Casey and Jen for an amazing day of play, learning and lots of fun.
If you have a daughter but she is not in 6th or 7th grade and you really wish she could come to this …let us know. Casey and Jen want to provide a day like this one to every grade and more is in the works. So let us know if you are interested.

Movement & Mediation with Jason Watts

Chi Kung Meditation
Chi Kung or

Jason Watts has a life long passion for martial arts and meditation. He started his journey in the internal arts of China 18 years ago. Growing up in Florida surfing, Jason fell in love with the ocean like movements of Chi Kung and Tai Chi. He realized how powerful these movements were for meditation and self defense. He has continued to train in other spiritual/martial arts such as Yoga and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Jason has been teaching the art to kids and adults for the last 16 years. He has seen how the different modalities of training all further promote the importance of meditation. He found that, “meditation is self defense.”

Jason’s Primary teachers are Master F. J. Paolillo of the Tao Institute. He studied the internal arts (Tai Chi, Chi Kung, Meditation) intensively with Master Paolillo for 16 years. Laura Richards, Acupuncture Physician and Tai Chi Instructor. Professor Armando and Christine Basulto, Basulto Academy of Defense. Jason has studied Yoga from various teachers as well as gurus.

September Client of the Month: Eileen Gertz!

Posted on September 6, 2016 by angelo

I am so honored to be selected the client of the month for July. Since I have been coming to the studio I have learned to have a deeper awareness of my body and the way I move. Just walking I notice a difference but doing things I love like sailing my catamaran, kayaking and hiking has changed. Even after 40 years of doing Massage Therapy I move more efficiently
my moves are more comfortable and energized. I have noticed my balance is better and I breathe more fully, throughout the total rib-cage!

This studio is the best – the instructor’s are amazing, professional and fun. I recently did 2 beginner reformer classes with Elizabeth  and learned so much.

I take this opportunity to Thank each and every one (seen and unseen)  for creating such a amazing healing place to come take care of our bodies.

Many Blessings,
Eileen

Client of the month: Cindy Esselstyn

Posted on August 5, 2016 by angelo

Currently, I am a 47 year old stay at home mom. I enjoy volunteering with young readers in the public school system, gardening, hiking, yoga, traveling and spending time with my family and friends.

I often call Fusion Pilates studio my sanctuary.  It is a safe place for me to get in touch with my body, mind and spirit for an entire hour. What a gift! When I’m not crashing the men’s Reformer class with Anne, you’ll find me focusing on strength and alignment with Jennifer in the Reformer class for all.  I also attend a Gyrotonic class which compliments the Reformer wonderfully! It has allowed my upper body to open and flow like never before! Private sessions with Casey Marie nourish my spirit and provide me with ideas for additional self care which is so important in this world we live in. I believe that caring for myself allows me to be more present and loving towards other humans.

I started coming to Fusion last fall to support my husband with his physical body journey. I loved it so much that I never left.

Through a multi sensory approach to learning about our inner workings, we will dive into biomechanical concepts using imagery to bring about a full body and mind focus to the work.
