I am 66 year old and moderately active. I take Tae Kwon Do classes 3-4 times a week and walk a couple of miles a day with my four high energy dogs. In 2014, I wrenched my neck in a Tae Kwon Do class while practicing falls. I was in acute pain and was treated by a chiropractor for nine months. I got relief from the immediate piercing pain but continued to experience ongoing, dull, aching discomfort and very limited range of motion. My mobility was greatly compromised. The young woman who referred me to Fusion, one of my Tae Kwon Do instructors, recommended release work. She had several injuries that interfered with her reaching her goals in her sport and told me that release work made a world of difference. I took her advice and began attending release classes at Fusion Pilates on a regular basis. Within a few weeks I began to see improvement in my range of motion. Within a few months the chronic pain subsided substantially. I brought the techniques I learned in class into my home and practiced often. I am so appreciative of the careful instruction at Fusion with its close attention to detail and the therapeutic result. In addition, the staff welcomes you like family and I just love the quiet and peaceful atmosphere of the studio. I am currently pain free and planning to take additional Pilates classes. I’ve been able to continue my Tae Kwon Do practice with improved range of motion and perhaps most importantly, my dogs and I are happily chasing up and down the mountains of Asheville.
