GS: The reformer series challenges the student with a total body workout by using the resistance of springs while pulling straps, facilitating a greater range of movement, flexibility, strength and control. This class will focus on the principles of Pilates including breath work, proper alignment, core stability, pelvic & shoulder stability/ mobility, and spinal mobility (flexion, extension, lateral flexion and rotation) through classical Pilates reformer exercises and choreography.
Each class will delve deeper into the anatomy of a specific area. We will look at the muscles of the area, how they relate to each other and how imbalances can cause pain and disfunction. We will equate the movements and the corrective exercises with things we do in our daily lives and also what we do in a Pilates class.
